He is well known for his passion in nudity and he made a big impact to the art of being naked and was best known for his stark, black-and-white nudes. Born Helmut Neustaedter in Berlin October 31, 1920, he grew up in privileged circumstances in the home of his German-Jewish garment-factory owner father and an American mother.
