In 1824 Nat Turner had a vision which he saw lights in the sky and the Spirit of God told Turner to take it upon him and fight the Serpent (slave masters). After the vision Nat Turner prayed to the Spirit and found out it meant to be forceful and free His people by force. Seven years later in February of 1831 an eclipse of the sun convinced Turner that it was a sign from God to start an insurrection, and to lead His people out of bondage.
