Firstly the problem must be explained as to why the incidents are occurring. In many prisons there are gangs, every gang has its own rules, for example; in the past there were two main gangs, the skin heads and the niggers, each gang had their own rules, own clothes, and their own style, many times this caused them to fight when they would come together. In the past the rules in prison where not like today unfortunately the prisons would experience murders, fighting and rape which has became known as the silence crime. Rape within prison was popular as many of the inmates suffered from psychological problems and found it easy to abuse other inmates.

The effects of rape caused physical and psychological problems to the victims. The physical impact of the rape was painful but not as permanent and shameful as the psychological effects.
