College Essay

I remember how scared I was. How lonely I felt. How numb I had to be.

That day I decided to do something that would change my life and all the people I loved along with it. That night I called my ex-boyfriend who said he couldn't talk to me because I was being to cryptic. That's when I started to take the Tylenol. First in pairs then in groups of four then groups of five. Thirty- six pills later I was being rushed to the hospital by my strong willed father trying not to cry and my frantic mother praying that she wouldn't lose another.

The tunnel vision took over and I only saw people from the neck down. I didn't want to look up at anyone's face. I was ashamed. They then hooked up to an EKG machine and stabbed me with IV's. Hours later I was questioned by some lady who would decide my fate. I ended up in the psychiatric ward of the hospital.

The tunnel vision didn't leave me for the nest seven days. Then I was sent back into the "Real World". I knew......
