One of the theories that were discussed in the book was that everyone on this planet believes in something or someone. It is just something we as human beings do, it is like breathing, it's natural. With nothing to believe in, there is really no purpose to live. What I mean by this is that life would be just pointless, without believing in something, there is no hope.
