Nigeria is located in West Africa on the Gulf of Guinea. Its total area consists of 356,669 square miles and has a landmass of 923,768 square kilometers. Nigeria is bordered to the north by the Republics of Niger and Chad, and to the west with the Republic of Benin. It shares the eastern borders with the Republic of Cameroon right down to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean forming the southern limits of the Nigerian Territory.
Nigeria's highest point is Chappal Waddi at 7,936 feet (2,419) and its lowest point is the Atlantic Ocean at 0m. Nigeria's terrain consists of southern lowlands which merge into central hills and plateaus. It is known to be mountainous in the southeast and has a lot of plains in the north. Nigeria consists of thirty-six states. Abuja which is also called the Federal Capital Territory is Nigeria's current capital. Of its 923,768 square kilometers of landmass, 33.02% is arable land, 3.14% is made of permanent crops, 44.12% of permanent pastures, 12.09% of forests......
