A PROFILE IN ROMANTICISM
I chose to write about William Wordsworth as a case study of the Romantic period because his life I feel closely resembles the lives of today's students, myself included. While a lot of the works studied through this course are sometimes hard to interpret (romanticism is classified by contradiction), when put into context as it applies to modern youths, a clearer picture begins to form. William Wordsworth was orphaned by his mother's death at an early age. His father, a successful lawyer, had not much of an inclination towards raising children and thus William and his siblings were placed in boarding schools. Orphaned completely by the age of thirteen with the death of his father, William became a bit unsettled. The only evidence of the affects of his parents passing on Wordsworth......
