Samuel Huntington asserts in his 1996 book "The Clash of the Civilisation and the Making of a New World Order" that conflicts of the future will not be on the traditional grounds of economic power or ideology but on cultural grounds. The new fault line in world conflicts will be clashing civilisations. Further, Huntington asserts that the major division, and major conflict of the future, will be that between the west and the rest' of the world. To examine this hypothesis we will address the social, economic and military/strategic worthiness of this statement.
