We have a government that has been around for 200 years. Have you ever really thought of how it came to be or why it has lasted for so long? Well all thanks should go to our United States Constitution. The Constitution is the framework for our government. The structure of government, our freedoms and rights as citizens, and the branches of government are all explained in this piece of American history. We shall take a look at our government's form.

The articles of our Constitution set up the three branches of the federal government. The Legislative branch makes the laws of our country that are sensitive to the needs of our nation. Next is the Executive branch, which implements and enforces these laws. Finally, the Judicial branch interpretates the laws. All branches have checks and balances to keep any one branch from having too much power or control. These checks and balances could be one branch voiding or amending acts of another branch.
