Max Stirner said that humans cannot be free. Even if we liberate ourselves from a body of authority, say for example, our parents, we would always be under another body of authority or more, like school or office rules.

I am no stranger to authority. Despite my being knuckleheaded rule-breaking attitude, I still recognize my lack of freedom. I must agree with this philosopher, because with my countless wants and aspirations and my desire to fulfill all of it, I still cannot do most.

I was once asked what I would do had I been given the chance to do whatever I want for one whole day. I answered, "If that would be the case, I want to be all-powerful to do what I want. I'd make myself invisible and acquire the power of teleportation so I could watch my loved ones and loved once in all their activities and whatnot. That means I would have to be all-knowing and omnipresent. In short, if I would be given the chance to do anything I want for a day, I want to be God."
