Based on Haught’s article words such as “morality”, “values” and “ethics” are, often times, used interchangeably, but carry their own meaning.

The word “ethics” has been used differently over the course of time by different groups of scholars and professionals. According to the article, some define ethics as the study of how best to live. Others define ethics as a code of conduct that one is expected to follow in their professions. Philosophers would argue that the term “ethics” can be used interchangeably with the word “morality”. Which group is right? I think one can argue that they are all right in some way or another, although I tend to disagree with the philosophers’ assessment.
