Last spring of 2006, I had the greatest honor of receiving a letter from the National Youth Leadership Forum On Medicine requesting upon my participation to attend an upcoming summer biomedical program. At the moment, my mind comprised of thrilled emotions, but I was thoroughly ecstatic to even begin thinking of experiencing my future endeavors. I have always aspired to become a doctor and my decision averred often at times when I see my grandmother lying in bed, suffering from lymphoma, during joyous occasions. In my hands lay an invitation to an opportunity of a lifetime to study advancements in medical procedures and I, among thousands, had been nominated to grasp this intellectual adventure. I optimistically looked
at the future convinced that there will be myriad of opportunities to learn more about medicine and the complexities that form the barrier to countless cures that can easily become breakthroughs to a more successful future. My mind wondered would I become the next......
