Dwight D. Eisenhower

Dwight D Eisenhower was born October 14th 1890, in Denison, Texas. He moved to Albiene, Kansas with his family being the third of 7 sons being raised there for most of his childhood. When he joined the army and was stationed in Texas he met Mamie Geneva Doud and later married her in 1916. Eisenhower was the 34th President of the United States, and a leading American General during his time in the US Army.
In his early Army profession he was not even a well known soldier in the forces. Further in his army career he had many achievements. One of his first major achievements was in WW2 when he commanded the Allied Forces landing in North Africa in November 1942 and on D-Day, 1944, he was Supreme Commander of the troops invading France. After the war he became the president of the University of Colombia , but later left to become supreme commander over the new NATO forces being assembled in 1951, and one year later he ran for president in 1952.
