“The Most Dangerous game”
‘The Most Dangerous Game” was written by Richard Connell. A famous author in the 1920s and 1930s. Two characters in the story are Big game hunters which was a popular sport for the wealthy in the early 20th century. In the story “The Most Dangerous game” the author Richard Connell uses foreshadowing to lead to the eventual ironic fate of the main character.
Connell uses foreshadowing right form the beginning of the story to set up the plot and setting of the story. The first time Connell uses foreshadowing is in the beginning of the story when they are on the boat. “Great sport, hunting.""The best sport in the world," agreed Rainsford. For the hunter," amended Whitney. "Not for the jaguar.""Don't talk rot, Whitney," said Rainsford. "You're a big-game hunter, not a philosopher. Who cares how a jaguar feels?""Perhaps the jaguar does," observed Whitney."Bah! They've no understanding." "Even so, I rather think they understand one thing--fear.......
