This quote reveals Winston’s character, for the first time he expresses his feelings to another human about how he hates people who follow the rules of big brother and wants people to break the rule by having sex and other forms of disobedience. This was one of the reasons why Winston fell in love with Julia because of their common beliefs. This quote relates to my theme corruption because it shows the true felling of a person who lived in Oceania and how they were fed up of with all the rules and lack of freedom. Winston figures if the whole world was corrupt than all the rules could be broken and then they could finally have freedom. Once corruption happens in the society, it can lead to a civil war between the rebels and the party. Therefore leading to a breakdown of the whole social system. The picture that best portrays this would be the devil. The devil...
