California, which extends about 350 miles East to West and 780 miles North to South, has the largest absorption of foreign-born people. More than 28 percent of state population is foreign born, and this number is growing more and more every year. According to Elias Lopez, “The magnitude of over all growth is remarkable considering that this is more people than the current population of the next most populous state, Texas.” Based on the United States map, more that 50 percent of the foreign-born population live in California, New York, Florida and Texas. The reason that these states are holding the most foreign-born populating is because of being the major border states like California and Texas and also states like New York and Florida consider metropolitan and urban states. According to U.S. census Asian and Hispanic populations are the largest numerical increases in size in California.
