Tutankhamun
Tutankhamun’s tomb tells us about life and death of the New Kingdom period in Egypt. Howard Carter discovered the tomb in 1923; it was a very important discovery for our understanding of ancient Egyptian way of life. The fact that the tomb was intact gave us our first real look of religious traditions, customs and rituals as well as a political intake. There isn’t much information on him as he was not an important king, he is well known because of is tomb which contained beautiful treasures and also because his mummified body was intact and undisturbed.
Tutankhamun lived over 3300 years ago during the period known as the New kingdom (1550 – 1070), he was the 12th pharaoh and succeeded Smenkhare. He was an Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty; he was a young boy who was established on the throne at the age of nine. Tutankhamun is one of the youngest pharaohs to ever reign over any country.
