Discrimination based on some ones sexual orientation is wrong. Society looks at two people and judges them based solely on the fact that they aren't attracted to someone of the opposite sex and then in turn expects people to not judge them. It's kind of like judging someone based on their religion, society views that as wrong, and when it happens it's totally and utterly despicable. People have lost jobs because they judged people on their religion. But when people judge someone based on their sexual orientation, society views it as morally and ethically ok. It's wrong for people to judge/slander people who believe differently or have a different skin color but when it comes down to the fact that they have sex with people of the same gender it is perfectly okay to slander them and vocalize your hate and disgust for them with no ramifications for your actions.
