After World War II, a war began amongst the Soviet Union and the United States. This was not a war with continuously combating but instead this was a war between two nations thus catching the name the Cold War. The Cold War lasted from the end of World War II to the disassembling of the Soviet Union in the year 1991. For almost forty years, our world as we know it was beneath the endless danger of absolute desolation, wedged in the middle of nuclear arsenals of the U.S., France and Great Britain and on the opposite side the Soviet Union. Any sudden crisis could lead a nuclear exchange between the two countries and anguish would alter the lives of millions of people around the world. (Faragher, Buhle, Czitrom, & Armitage, 2000)
