Persons with disabilities
I have put much thought into how I would personally help people with disabilities. The reason for wanting to help people with disabilities is because my husband and my Father, and my Mother in law, are disabled and I am learning as I go how to help each of them with his or her different disabilities. As an advocate for people with disabilities I would help find facilities that can house the disabled person or help him or her with his or her every day activities or errands.
Housing and repairs has been the most difficult task to receive. As an advocate for my husband, Father, and Mother in law; I have researched and contacted various agencies and requested help or funds to help repair my home and my Mother in laws home. The reasons I continue to receive is the government is strapped for funds helping to re-build New Orleans or a shortage in donations because the economy is so slow.
