Introduction
This report will introduce readers to the epidemic of child-hood obesity. I will illustrate how fast obesity has risen in children and adolescents over the last 30 years. Additionally, I will cover the health, social, and economic issues surrounding obesity in children and adolescents. Finally, I will give some key ideas on what parents and schools can do to help stop the growing epidemic.

Issue
Over the past 30 years, the child-hood obesity epidemic has been doubling and tripling in children and adolescents. This increase in obesity has hurt our children socially. Either by being made fun of or low self-esteem. Since 2002, due to a Call of Action from the U.S. Congress, the Institute of Medicine has been researching and developing a plan to decrease the obesity epidemic in our children and adolescents.
