Love, sadness, fright, hate, anger and joy; Emotions – in psychology – are the language of a person’s state of mind. Reason is the process of drawing a conclusion after thinking logically and coherently. What is emotional is unreasonable and what is reasonable is not emotional. Can these two be equally important in decision making? Reason clearly plays a more important role than emotion due to the fact that the emotions cannot be controlled while reason requires careful thinking.
Reason analyses situations using logic and common sense, it is based on careful and critical thinking and it is very hard to leave one’s emotions out of the process of decision making. If a person is upset or angry, they should not make important decisions until the emotion goes away because it gets in the way of reason. In an extreme case, someone who is angry at someone else may – in the spur of the moment – commit a crime against that person because his emotions got in the way of his......
