Introduction
Kimberly M. McCarter wrote an article entitled “Kids and research: Risky business?” in 1995. The article discusses several concerns about children participating in marketing research. The US Federal Labor Standards Act contains strict regulations regarding the employment of children. Factors to be considered include school-hour conflicts, on-site injuries, parental consent, health requirements, release of children, child abuse and negligent hiring (McCarter, 1995).
Hypothesis
The U.S. Department of Labor presented the question of whether a child labor employment relationship exists in this type of situation. From this question, a hypothesis can be drawn.
