I am Benjamin Franklin. I was born on January 17, 1706 in Boston, Massachusetts. I was born on Milk Street in Boston and my father, Josiah Franklin, was a candle maker. My mom and dad’s marriage resulted in seventeen sons and I am the fifteenth and the youngest son. Boston Latin School was where I attended but didn’t get to graduate. At 12 years old, I went to become an apprentice to my brother James who publishes the New England Courant. Fugitive, I was, when I ran away from my apprenticeship without permission When I reached the age of 17, Philadelphia seemed like a opportunity city so I went their to have a fresh new start. From 1723- 1730, I worked in a lot of different printing shops and at the age of 22, I became the owner of a print shop.
