In this paper, I will explore and discuss the Non-verbal Communication and how often it is used from day to day. It is one of the most influential modes of communication we utilize in our daily lives while interacting with others around us in society. By using body language, we send and receive messages in a variety of ways without the use of verbal codes i.e.: words. Verbal communication is defined as spoken communication, including the use of words and intonations to convey meaning. Yet, Non-Verbal Communication is “silent” communication, including the use of gestures, postures, eye contact, facial expressions, and conversational distance. From our handshakes to our hairstyles, non-verbal details reveal who we are and impact how we relate to other people. We could send information about ourselves and our attitudes toward a person by using our actions and gestures to express what we say. According to experts, a substantial portion of our communications is non-verbal.
