The history of the Ku Klux Klan
The Origin
The Ku Klux Klan was a tribe of people who believed in one dominant race. It debuted in the spring of 1866 when six confederate veterans formed a social club in Pulaski, Tennessee. Though this KKK only lasted six years, it left diplomacy and rituals that was later ignited in later generations. (Ingalls, 9) It started out as a small secret group, but later caught fire and spread throughout many southern states. The exact date of the beginning is unknown. During their underground days, the six KKK members initiated new members to join their social club, and from there the KKK came out from its shadows. (Ingalls, 9)
The KKK, they led a movement against the Reconstruction. The Klan now had a purpose. The Klan was now ready to expand and let themselves be known. The Klan took on a code. This was a managerial organization allowing the Klan to spread across the south. Requirements were that the person had to be over 18, pay $1, and swear......
