This story is about a normal day for a typical nineteen year old guy named Sammy. He works at an A&P grocery store. Working at the same store was another young man, Stokesie, who is twenty two year old, having the same job as Sammy, but supporting a family. Sammy is realizing that he must get out of this store and go out into the world, because if he is not going to quit this job he knows he will stay there, and that is the last thing he wants to happen to him. He wants to see the world from a different view. He doesn't want to stay in this store looking at people coming in and out, except him that is stuck in the register. Even though Sammy didn't think about all the consequences of quiting, he made up his mind and nothing would change it. Sammy finds a good excuse that day, he quits as a reason because of the way his manager, Lengel, insulted the girls who came into the store with only their swimsuits on just to pick up something for their parents. Lengel gets upset about it and......
