The Color Purple by Alice Walker is a classic novel concerning the southern lifestyle of a young African American girl in the twentieth century. The story is narrated throughout the eyes of Celie by a series of letters which tells of her daily struggles with life, her sexuality, and Albert (known as Mr.___ in the book).
