The Bubonic Plague, also known as the Black Death took a horrible toll on society as a whole. The disease killed approximately 25 million people or 1/3 of Europe’s population at the time. Such a dramatic loss of life had an immediate and long-term effect on Europe’s population as it struggled to recover. This shared tragedy left a mark on society as a whole, which can be seen in the art and culture of the time.
The Bubonic Plague’s symptoms begin with flu like symptoms. The person would initially have a headache, which would then progress to a high fever. They would then develop sever vomiting and back pains. As the disease progress the person would also develop a strong sensitivity to light. All of these symptoms would appear within the first 3-4 days of the illness .
Once the disease had a foothold in the person the more defining traits of the Bubonic Plague would appear. These symptoms would include the swelling of the lymph nodes called buboes. In fact this......
