If someone asked my great-grandmother when she was alive, what an ideal mother was, she would probably say that an ideal mother is someone who is home with her children, has dinner on the table when dad gets home, and spends her days doing house work. My great-grandmother and others from her generation frowned upon the idea of a mother’s role being anything more than a simplistic housewife. Fortunately, this idealistic and humdrum opinion mothers were expected to live by is a thing of the past. Mothers today are making a positive mark on society by showing the world what they are capable of. Many have left home to break into workforce and in many cases bringing the largest salary home.
