I don’t fell as though Judy Sheindlin’s attitude toward juvenile offenders is too harsh. She states that first time offenders she be treated more harshly so they will be afraid to come back, in hopes there will not be a second offense. I agree with her to an extent. You should try to put fear into the juvenile but at the same time, if there is a second offense then maybe the first punishment wasn’t harsh enough.
I have had friends in the past which have fallen into the criminal lifestyle. This person has seen it all when it comes to being a juvenile criminal. He has been involved with drugs, burglary, and assault. I know that he was not treated harsh enough for his first and second offense which is the reason why he has yet to change his ways. I also know that a big reason why he does the things he does is because of his parents. He has lived a life of verbal and physical abuse coming from his parents.
