Genocides, bombings, hate crimes and shootings are everywhere in the media. Death is a constant word used daily to describe the increasing number of innocent lives it takes. It is used so often that it bears no meaning and in our society violence is expected. If death and violence is so prevalent in the news, why hasn’t anyone realized that this is a major issue? Why hasn’t anyone realized that the world is in great need of peace? How many more lives will it take for our world, our own people to acknowledge this? However, the real question is why is there war?
War, as defined by the dictionary, is “a situation in which a person or group is fighting for power, influence, or control.” What is it about human nature that drives us t o crave power, to crave control?
