Method
Participants
A total of 18 participants, consisting of 13 females and 5males, attending a Bachelor Of Arts in Psychology course by University Of Murdoch, performed the experiment as a laboratory exercise. The age of participants ranged from 19 – 40 (M = 25.33, SD = 5.18) years.
Materials
Raven’s Advanced Progressive Matrices (RAPM). The test consists of multiple choice questions of abstract reasoning. In each test item, participants are asked to identify the missing segment required to complete a larger pattern. Items are presented in a form of 3x3 matrix. The 20-min timed version of the RAPM is an adequate predictor of intellectual ability (Hamel & Schmittman, 2006, pp 1039).
Estimation Ability Test. The test was carried out on a booklet comprising of 26 sheets of paper with a 25cm line drawn on each sheet of the paper, with number 0 printed just below the left end of the line and number 100 printed just below the right end of the line. Participants......
