Realism in family sitcoms is not accurately portrayed in the media. Most often than not it is the farthest representation of realistic behavior and actions of the average family and as such I will be delving into how realistic one of America’s most popular family sitcoms actually is compared to the average family as well as myself and my own experiences.
In this episode of Full House, entitled “Under the Influence” there are two main stories which relate to the areas of research. The main story is about D.J. and Kimmy and how they are invited to a fraternity party where Kimmy drinks and is driven home by D.J. after arguing with her that she is in no condition to drive, Kimmy ends up spending the night in D.J.’s bedroom. Kimmy wakes up and accuses D.J. of ruining her night and has a completely distorted view of what happened the previous night believing that she was the life of the party. D.J. responds by telling Kimmy she spent the entire night vomiting and the fraternity......
