I know little more about Giacomo Leopardi than the general and abstract outline of his biography and works. But through what he wrote, the power is enough to draw me into the abyss of such sort of sadness. Heavy as my heart is, when I try to imagine myself as leading the tragic life of the great Italian poet, I find myself nearly suffocated in sorrow. So, I share my sympathy with him and feel astonished how he could tide over the sea of boundless despair and accept the twisted world. I don’t want to annotate and analyze the social meaning of Leopardi’s works or discuss palely about the talent and influence of the Schopenhaueric poet, which I regard as the oncovering the profound scar of Giacomco’s bottom heart. I only want to sit beside him to feel his real feelings and thoughts and comfort him as an ordinary but lost friend who meet with him years later without the name of academy.
Leopardi’s poetry renders us images and pictures as I am reading the famous L’s infinito.......
