Water is one of the most important resources available. Water is made with two atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen and is essential for the sustainability of life for many reasons. Without the availability of water, plants and animals would be unable to meet their minimum requirement to sustain life and would eventually die. Humans depend on water for cooking, irrigation to grow food, drinking and cleaning. Water is also used for energy production and waste disposal. Water does not have an infinite supply and much of the water located on the planet contains so much salt that consumption for drinking and irrigation is not possible. Due to the dire need for clean water it is essential that we carefully manage our water supply.
