Dear Editor,

After reading the book entitled “There Are No Children Here” I found myself reminiscing on what I had just read and substituting numerous details into modern society. As a personal advocate of struggles within inner-city projects and the quickly rising poverty and violence rate in not only Chicago’s projects, but in broken down neighborhoods, ghettos, small cities or even larger cities that are scattered all over a globe that you may stare at in your history class every day. If poverty and violence could be represented by a red dot on that globe, it would literally appear to have been stricken with the chickenpox. With that being said, I have felt compelled to write and share and discuss my own personal opinions on this book
First and foremost, I feel that the perspective in which this book was written was impressive. When people compare and contrast people to the projects, the main subjects are typically young men that have already dropped out of school,......
