An Unexpected Adventure

Imagine being in a deluge of rain, thunder, and lightning while being hot, wet, and sticky and not having a clue which way to go or how to get back to your car. This is how I felt one day this past summer while being tangled with two dogs’ leashes in my arms, one of which was a tiny puppy who continued to whine because she was wet, and the other a grown dog who just wanted to explore further on. As Dave, my friend, ran off in search of a map or familiar direction of how to return to his car, I had to wait standing on the edge of a road, soaked with muddy slippery flip-flops on my mangled feet from broken tree branches that had blown onto the trails from the gusty storm.
It all began on the humid and cloudy Wednesday morning when my boyfriend pulled up to the front of my house with his dog Hayley panting excitedly in the back seat, ready for an adventure. I locked up my house and quickly stumbled down my steep and voluptuous driveway with my puppy,......
