Depression is a mood disorder in which feelings of sadness, loss, anger, or frustration interfere with everyday life for an extended period of time altering an individuals ablity to adapt or deal life. Depression can decrease the amount of functional activity an individual is involved with and can alter their perspective of the world at large. The disorder is often identified by loss of energy and ability or desire to function, poor sleep or appetite, and exaggerated feelings of hopelessness and discouragement.
