Social Capital – the value of the positive social connections that people can draw on to solve individual and common problems. These social connections are created through social and civic activities within the community.

Stress –

The term “stress” was coined by Hans Selye in 1936. In his research with laboratory animals subjected to acute but different negative emotional and physical stimuli (e.g., extremes of heat and cold, blaring light, deafening noises, ongoing frustration) he found that all of them exhibited stomach ulcers, enlarged adrenals, and reduced lymphoid tissues. In his later research he was able to demonstrate increased heart attacks, stroke, kidney disease, and rheumatoid arthritis.
