God designed the world, with built in values and purposes. Moral laws or Natural laws both describe and prescribe the way things should be. For example good equals moral or natural and bad equals unnatural. Moral laws or natural laws are reason and rationality. These three beliefs are known as the Natural Law Theory (NLT). NLT avoids Plato’s Dilemma because is doesn’t make morality independent of God and God made human rational beings so they can make the important decisions themselves.
There are two objections to the NLT. The first is from explanations from science. According to scientific research, human evolve and adapt through natural selection. Therefore, Science does not find built in value and purposes. The second is the fact and value problem. Facts and values are logically distinct; they are not the same thing.
