Television is one of the most powerful and widespread propagators of new trends in language. It transmits lots of information to the widest audience in short period of time, making it universally available for people belonging to different age groups. Language used in television easily penetrates to commonly used language and every neologism that is presented in television becomes a regular word shortly after it is introduced to the public. I want to focus my project on new words in English language that are classified as compound and blend words that appear on TV. I pay a close attention to them since I have watched children programs with my one year old daughter on channel thirteen every morning. Television is a huge information resource and among children programs I find some, that have strictly didactical character and majority of the other programs that are simplified, do not carry important information essential for children’s development, and are often disturbed by numbers......
