Dr. Edward de Bono is a physician, author, inventor, and consultant; he is regarded by many to be the leading authority in the world in the field of creative thinking and the direct teaching of thinking as a skill. He has written 62 books with translations into 37 languages and has been invited to lecture in 54 countries.

Basically he is a teacher who preaches alternative ways of thinking i.e. Lateral thinking parallel thinking, he is able to commercialize his concept and could convince many that thinking is a skill; one of his examples: "IQ is your car's power however thinking is the performance of the car which depend on the skill of the driver so people with poor IQ can use it efficiently to deliver better thinking". I am not sure if I totally agree with this however I believe in defining process (including for thinking), it increases the success rate; better the process more the chances of repeating the success.
