Jack London, who is considered to be one of America’s greatest authors, has written a fair share of truly classic works. The Call of the Wild and White Fang are examples of middle and high school reading requirements. His other stories, such as Sea Wolf and The People of the Abyss are not well known, but are still great pieces as many people would say. Lesser known are his volumes of short stories; "To Build a Fire" which is the most popular. I cannot say that I have read allot of London's works, but from what I have read, I have seen many similarities.
During the semester in class, we have learned how authors use different elements of writing to get their point across. For London's earliest works, he use the Yukon as his setting. In addition to this he features the same type of characters. Such is the case with the three stories I chose to study; "To Build a Fire ," "Love of Life ," and "The League of the Old Men."
