CONSTITUTION
The Constitution is the absolute law of the United States of America. It was adopted in September, 1787 by the Constitutional Convention in the Assembly Room of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was later agreed upon by each state. The constitution has been amended twenty-seven times since its adoption. Originally, there were seventy individuals from several states meeting to discuss amendments to the Articles of Confederation. There were never more than forty-six men present at one time and at the end, only thirty-nine actually signed the Constitution. After many lengthy meetings and much debate it was decided that they would propose a new written Constitution. I chose to write about the Constitution because it is what governs the country today and without it the House, Senate and President would be free to make laws as they felt like it.
