Critical Thinking


Critical thinking is an art form that can be developed if the subject is willing. It requires some thinking on the part of the person whom is a student of critical thinking. This paper will define critical thinking, give some examples of life without critical thinking, an example of the authors own critical thinking, and suggest a few problems with critical thinking.
Critical thinking is the art of thinking about thinking while thinking in order to make thinking better. It involves three interwoven phases: it analyzes thinking, it evaluates thinking, it improves thinking. (Paul, Eldner, 2006) Critical thinking as a description could be summed up by stating that Critical thinking is a purposeful and deliberate manner in which one uses his or her own thinking power to arrive at a solution that is unimpeded by distractions of the mind and stays on task.
