Introduction

This document was made to discuss recent network attack in the form of computer worm called Storm worm. If you received an email message with “Are you ready for some football?” in the subject line, you are more than likely was an intended target of this fast spreading worm that hit the Internet community earlier this year. The worm’s creator uses recent social events such as NFL kick off season, holiday season or even false breaking news story to spread this worm.
The discussion will include a brief explanation of the terminology used throughout this paper, chronological event of this outbreak, which systems are at risk, what damages that it may or has caused, its long term ramification and how it could be mitigated or eliminated. Author of this document doesn’t claim to have documented a complete event of this emerging problem.
