Hammurabi was a Babylonian king who reigned from about 1795 to 1750 BC. By the end of his rule his empire expanded form the Persian Gulf through the Tigris and Euphrates river valleys to the Mediterranean Sea. In the earlier years of his rule, he mostly participated in traditional activities like repairing buildings, digging canals, and leading wars, but later in his rule Hammurabi organized a unique and powerful code of laws, the first of it’s kind, making himself one of the world’s most influential leaders. Hammurabi ruled Babylonia with unlimited power and absolute authority, he believed hat he was chosen by the gods to deliver the law to his people that we know of today as Hammurabi’s Code. Hammurabi was primarily influential to the world because of his code of laws that strictly governed Babylonian life. This code consisted of 282 laws arranged under a variety of categories, he sorted his laws into groups like family, labor, personal property, real estate, and business,......
