Introduction:
This case presents a dilemma faced by Texana Petroleum Corporation, one of the major producers and marketers of petroleum products in southwestern United States. Although, Texana faced a competition increase; as a result sales declined and by 1955 the loss reached a very high level. Senior Executives tried to act quickly, when seemed that the company’s division could not agree on anything and apparently they had different objectives, and interests. However, each division depended upon the other and the outcome of this situation is the lack of commitment among the divisions, miscommunication, no collaboration, and internal strife.
