Darcy Quinlin had just started ninth grade with her best friend Becky Sue Johnson.
It was the year of 1974, on a peaceful afternoon when Darcy was walking home after school. As soon as she walked in the kitchen she saw her mother Joy Quinlin, who was quietly crying next to Darcy’s father Graham Quinlin. Immediately she knew something
was wrong. That night Darcy’s parents told her that her mother had been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

The weeks and months that followed were hard. Darcy’s mother was in and out of the hospital, and only getting worse. The chemotherapy only made her lose her hair and her strength as well. When the Doctors put her on Radiation, They had to place her in a permanent residence next to the hospital because she was too sick to keep on making the long trip to the city. When......
